Photos of roadside warbirds and museum collections are most welcome. Photos of aircraft as they are currently displayed are great, but photos of airframes in previous markings, with past owners or during a restoration are fantastic as well. You can help document the history of airframes with photos!

Airframe: Lockheed SR-71A Blackbird, s/n 61-7960 USAF, c/n 2011
Notes: Outside next to the highway and train tracks. This museum is about to build a 2 million dollar pavilion and get some of its 80 airplanes undercover. It is reputed that this airplane flew to this airport then the engines were destroyed. The engine oil was drained and the engines run again until they seized. The Air Force wanted to make sure there was no possibility of anyone flying the airplane once it was stored with public access. The airplane looks complete and in good shape for her age. Video of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzHU71aZoTs

Airframe: Convair GRB-58A Hustler, s/n 55-0666 USAF, c/n 7
Notes: The aircraft is outside and cannot be worked on in the summer while the aluminum is too hot. The team assembling this aircraft has changed in the last years and progress has been slow. Still to do are two engine pods, the center line pod, and the flight control surfaces. The center pod is elsewhere on the property.

Notes: From the movie Con Air, this is the stunt plane that had the schoolbus chassis under when they crashed into the Sands hotel in Las Vegas in 1995. See my YouTube channel for a detailed tour through this airplane. It has the schoolbu steering wheel and throttle/brakes. YouTube - On The Road With Norm - for a 2024 tour through it.
