Photos of roadside warbirds and museum collections are most welcome. Photos of aircraft as they are currently displayed are great, but photos of airframes in previous markings, with past owners or during a restoration are fantastic as well. You can help document the history of airframes with photos!

Date Uploaded: 13 December 2018
Airframe: Avro Lincoln II, s/n RF342 RAF, c/r G-APRJ
Notes: Shows the many wing-shapes relating to aircraft which this airframe was used for de-icing research.
Although the Lincoln was somewhat similar to the Avro Lancaster, to the best of my knowledge was never used in any theatre of war, unlike some others. Was used by Napier De-Icing Research between 1948 and 1962.

Airframe: North American B-25N Mitchell, s/n 44-30861 USAAF, c/n 108-34136, c/r N9089Z
Notes: After the move from the Eastern Perimiter at Southend Airport, we moved HD368/N9089Z to the new location just-off airport for the Historic Aircraft Museum-Southend to be open to the public in 1972. The move was undertaken during the weekend of the 18th October 1970 along with the other aircraft from the main-airport and being able to utilise the main-runway as the best route, was a very slow process as well as over rough ground too.
