Photos of roadside warbirds and museum collections are most welcome. Photos of aircraft as they are currently displayed are great, but photos of airframes in previous markings, with past owners or during a restoration are fantastic as well. You can help document the history of airframes with photos!

Airframe: Hawker-Armstrong Whitworth Sea Hawk FGA.6, s/n XE489 RN, c/n AW-6385, c/r G-JETH
Notes: XE489 026 Armstrong Whitworth built Hawker Sea Hawk FGA6 c/n 6385 Built 1955
10-1-1956 Delivered to the Royal Navy until 5-1967 - when Surplus to Requirements.
20-5-1967 - Last flight to Southend Airport, Essex. for the H.A.M-Southend.
18-10-1970 We towed 489 from the airports eastern-perimeter down the main-runway
to the new complex of the Historic Aircraft Museum-Southend (off-airport site).
1972 saw the official-opening of the museum and subsequently 489 was repainted as
XE364 485 J to represent an aircraft of 899 Sqn. serving with HMS EAGLE.
Those markings and the paint-scheme were purely fictitious.!!!
1982 saw the closure of the museum - due largely to lack of public-attendance and running
costs etc. and subsequently the aircraft were put-up for auction.
10-8-1983 As acquired by Brencham Ltd., the aircraft had been moved to (Hurn Airport).
It was considered a possibility of restoring this airframe to flying condition, but
that was not to be achieved.

Airframe: Avro Lincoln II, s/n RF342 RAF, c/r G-APRJ
Notes: Shows the many wing-shapes relating to aircraft which this airframe was used for de-icing research.
Although the Lincoln was somewhat similar to the Avro Lancaster, to the best of my knowledge was never used in any theatre of war, unlike some others. Was used by Napier De-Icing Research between 1948 and 1962.

Airframe: North American B-25N Mitchell, s/n 44-30861 USAAF, c/n 108-34136, c/r N9089Z
Notes: After the move from the Eastern Perimiter at Southend Airport, we moved HD368/N9089Z to the new location just-off airport for the Historic Aircraft Museum-Southend to be open to the public in 1972. The move was undertaken during the weekend of the 18th October 1970 along with the other aircraft from the main-airport and being able to utilise the main-runway as the best route, was a very slow process as well as over rough ground too.
