    Built by Hawker at Kingston upon Thames.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ministry of Defence with s/n XP980.
    Retained by Hawker Siddeley for development work.

    24 February 1963

    First flight.
    At Dunsfold.

    16 November 1963

    Made a heavy landing. Flew again on 1963-11-25 following repairs.

    11 February 1965

    Transferred to RAF Bircham Newton.

    10 March 1965

    Transferred to Hawker Siddeley, Dunsfold.
    Via RAF West Raynham.

    14 July 1965

    Grounded - next recorded flight 30/12/1965.

    27 January 1966

    Last flight from Dunsfold.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Aircraft Establishment with s/n XP980.

    Transferred to A and AEE, Boscombe Down.
    For trials, damaged during practice forced landing, used for spares recovery.

    1970

    To Flight Refuelling Ltd, Tarrant Rushton.
    Used by Flight Refuelling as ground experimental vehicle - barrier trials.

    March 1971

    Wing returned to Boscombe Down, replaced with wing from Harrier GR1 XV751.

    1972

    Transferred to RAE Bedford.
    For pilotless crash barrier trials.

    September 1973

    Transferred to 71MU, RAF Bicester.
    For conversion to display exhibit (not carried out).

    Transferred to RAF Gaydon.
    For ground handling training.

    6 November 1974

    Transferred to Hawker Siddeley, Bitteswell.

    August 1975

    Transferred to RAE Bedford.
    For Sea Harrier restraining hook trials.

    August 1977

    Transferred to Flight Refuelling Ltd, Tarrant Rushton.
    For Drone braking tests as part of the Sea Vixen D3 programme.

    9 October 1980

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Navy with s/n A2700.

    9 October 1980

    To School of Flightdeck Operations (SFDO), HMS Seahawk, RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall, England.
