    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 64002.

    Transferred to NAS Jacksonville, FL.

    Damaged.
    Damaged during landing 15 mi ENE of St. Augustine, FL. Pilot error.

    3 November 1953

    Damaged.
    Damaged in landing accident, NAS Jacksonville.

    To Joe G. Marrs, Lake Placid, FL with new c/r N9548C.

    24 November 1964

    To Rolled Steel Corp, Skokie, IL with new c/r N331RS (28-5ACF, 64002).

    27 August 1966

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. This was a training flight. The accident occurred at off Highland Park, IL (United States of America) while landing. Narrative: Struck a submerged object with the left hand pontoon during landing and sank. PROBABLE CAUSE:miscellaneous - foreign object damageFACTOR:miscellaneous acts,conditions - aircraft came to rest in water.

    Civil registration, N331RS, cancelled.

    Recovered.
    The submerged wreck was retrieved from Lake Michigan.

    Wreck displayed.
