    Constructed as a F-106A-CO by Convair at San Diego, California, USA.
    8th F-106 produced by Convair at San Diego CA (To test)

    27 April 1961

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 56-0460.
    #16 of 35 Test-To-Tactical Conversions. Returned to Convair in March 1961 and upgraded from TAC Conventional to Vertical instruments in 1961. Fuselage cut in half at station 412 (Aft bulkhead missile bay) and a new fuselage, cockpit section, and nose section was installed with the latest production avionics.

    To 11th FIS, 343rd FG, Duluth MAP MN.

    23 November 1964

    Transferred to Eglin AFB FL for Climate Testing.

    11 January 1965

    Transferred to 11th FIS, 343rd FG, Duluth MAP MN.

    25 March 1965

    Transferred to 5th FIS Minot AFB ND.

    Damaged.
    Damaged at Moose Jaw, Canada. Helicoptered back to Minot.

    20 June 1983

    Permanently withdrawn from use.
