Modified by E-Systems with secure communications in order to serve as an Air Force Two platform. This system included an Airborne Communications Systems Operator crew position located several feet behind the copilots seat. |

This VC-9C transported Americas top leadership from 1975 until 2011. Much of that time it served as Air Force Two for Vice Presidents Walter Mondale, George H.W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Al Gore and Dick Cheney. It also served serveral of Americas First LadiesaCoRosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Hillary R. Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama. When this aircraft was needed to transport presidents into smaller airportsaCoRonald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. BushaCoit served as Air Force One. It also transported visiting world leaders such as Queen Elizabeth II and the Chief of Staff of the Peoples Republic of China. This VC-9C has extended range fuel tanks. (Air Mobility Command). |
