    Constructed as an AH-1G-BF by Bell at Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

    October 1967

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 66-15302.

    December 1967

    To 355th Aviation Company, 4th Army, Fort Sill, OK.
    Deployed to South Vietnam.

    24 January 1968

    Damaged.
    During a recon mission for armed recon, AH-1G 66-15302 was traveling at 30 feet and 135 knots over South Vietnam when it took 1 hit from an enemy 7.62MM weapon. The helicopter was hit in the main rotor blade system. The helicopter continued flight and accomplished all mission objectives.

    Transferred to 235th Aviation Company, Can Tho, South Vietnam.

    2 February 1968

    Damaged.
    During a close air support mission over South Vietnam, AH-1G 66-15302 was in the target area and was attacking at 800 feet and 135 knots when it took 2 hits from a 14.5MM weapon. The helicopter was hit in the main rotor blade system. The helicopter continued flight and accomplished all mission objectives.

    19 February 1968

    Damaged.
    During a recon mission for armed recon, AH-1G 66-15302 was traveling at 50 feet and 100 knots over South Vietnam when it took 1 hit from an enemy 7.62MM weapon. The helicopter was hit in the main rotor blade system. The helicopter continued flight and accomplished all mission objectives.

    13 March 1968

    Damaged.
    While at Can Tho, AH-1G 66-15302 was shut down in its assigned parking revetment when a CH-47B landed on the runway and taxied by causing the rotor blades to flex down on the AH-1G and strike the tail boom putting a dentin the tail boom.

    17 March 1968

    Damaged.
    During a close air support mission, AH-1G 66-15302 was at 1200 feet and 125 knots. when it took 1 hit from an enemy 7.62MM weapon. The helicopter continued flight and accomplished all mission objectives.

    By May 1968

    Transferred to 611th Transportation Company, South Vietnam.

    10 May 1968

    Damaged.
    During a Recon mission for Armed Escort, Other Aircraft, AH-1G 66-15302 was attacking in the target area over South Vietnam at 300 feet and 110 knots when it took 2 hits from an enemy 7.62MM weapons. The helicopter was hit in the Main Rotor Blade System, damaging the electrical system, airframe and instruments. The armor protecting the personnel was effective. The helicopter continued flight and accomplished all mission objectives.

    23 May 1968

    Crashed.
    The aircraft was cleared to land behind the revetments on the active runway side and over swampy area. The pilot was at a 15 foot hover at which time the aircraft started turning to the right. After turning 720 degrees, the aircraft banked left at which time the tip of the main rotor blade contacted the water causing the aircraft to crash. Suspected tail rotor failure.

    June 1968

    Returned to the United States for repairs.

    July 1968

    To Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC), NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    October 1968

    To Bell Helicopter Company, Fort Worth, TX.

    September 1969

    Transferred to Director of Supply and Transport, Sharpe Army Depot, CA.

    November 1969

    Transferred to A Troop, 7-17th CAV, South Vietnam.

    December 1970

    Transferred to 604th Transportation Company, South Vietnam.

    March 1971

    Transferred to D Troop, 3-5th CAV, South Vietnam.

    February 1972

    Returned to the United States.

    July 1972

    To ARADMAC, NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    January 1973

    Transferred to U. S. Army Aviation Systems Command (AVSCOM), Saint. Louis, MO.

    February 1973

    Transferred to ARADMAC, NAS Corpus Christi, TX.

    October 1973

    Transferred to Supply Division, 5th Army, Fort Knox, KY.

    November 1973

    Transferred to 235th Assault Helicopter Company, 1st Army, Fort Knox, KY.

    Converted to an AH-1S (Modified).

    Transferred to 1-147th Aviation Battalion, Wisconsin Army National Guard.
