    Circa 1953

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 131485.

    Converted to a P2V-5F.
    Conversion included mounting jet engine under each wing.

    6 July 1962

    Redesignated as P-2E.

    Circa December 1966

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 131485.
    Loaned from the Navy.

    Converted to an AP-2E.
    Converted to AP-2E. While the aircraft should have been technically designated as RP-2E due to their mission, they were given the non-standard designation of AP-2E to disguise their true function. Equipped as signals intelligence aircraft able to intercept, decipher, translate, analyze and disseminate enemy radio communications intelligence.

    From June 1967 to March 1972

    Transferred to 1st Radio Research Company (aka 1st Army Security Agency), Naval Air Facility, Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam.
    Operated with markings: The Burbank Boomerang, ARMY, 131485

    Circa 1973

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 131485.
    Returned from loan.

    By November 1981

    To United States Army Aviation Museum, Fort Rucker, Enterprise, AL.
