    Dates

    Event

    Constructed as a Lancaster B.I(FE).
Built with the intended of use by Tiger Force (Pacific Theater).

    7 March 1946

Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n TW911.

Converted for use as a flying test bed for the Armstrong Siddeley Python Turboprop.

    Scrapped.
Only the cockpit section remained and it was fitted to Lincoln RF342.

The combination of the cockpit of Lancaster TW911 and the airframe of Lincoln RF342 served for a number of years with Napier 9 jet engines.

    To College, Aeronautics, Cranfield.

The Lancaster/Lincoln combination was eventually retired by the college.

    Circa 1968

To British Historic Aircraft Museum, Southend, UK.

When the museum closed the airframe was auctioned off. It passed through the hands of numerous owners losing bits with each move. It is thought the nose section, the last surviving component of Lancaster TW911, was the first to be removed.

    January 2004

To Wizzard Investments Ltd, Greenham Common.
Only the nose section survived here.

    2008

To Flying Heritage Collection/Paul Allen, Paine Field, Everett, WA.
Only the cockpit section survives here.
