    Raced as #99, named Penneys pixy.
    The race was from Saint Petersburg, FL, to Reno. Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Harolds Club Transcontinental race. The primary pilot was Stan Hoke. Raced in the One Mile Course race. Finished in 6th place with an average speed of 255.68 mph.

    17 April 1966

    Crashed.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number NYC66A0117: There was one fatality. Incident occurred at 13:05 hours. The airframe was destroyed. Incident occurred at the Godfrey Field Airport, Lincoln, VA. Stalled and/or mushed while performing aerobatics.

    Civil registration, N551D {1}, cancelled.

    To Brownings Inc/Ed Browning, Roberts, ID with new c/r N5421V.
    It is assumed Mr. Browning acquired the wreckage, or maybe only the paperwork.

    The ID was adopted by CA-17 c/n 1364. It is not known what happened to any surviving components, but it is assumed the airframe ceased to exist.
