    Constructed as a SBD-3 by Douglas.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 06508.

    1942

    Transferred to Marine Scout Bomber Squadron 141 (VMSB-141), Henderson Field, Guadalcanal.

    From August 1942 to 1943

    Fought in the battle for Guadalcanal.

    Transferred to Marine Scout Bomber Squadron 132 (VMSB-132), Henderson Field, Guadalcanal.
    This squadron also flew this plane during the battle for Guadalcanal.

    Circa March 1943

    Transferred to Navy Bombing Squadron 10 (VB-10), USS Enterprise (CV-6).

    Circa June 1943

    Transferred to Carrier Qualification Training Unit, NAS Glenview, IL.

    23 November 1943

    Crashed.
    Ditched in Lake Michigan after skidding on landing and going over the side of USS Wolverine (IX-64).

    1990

    Recovered.
    Recovered from Lake Michigan by A and T Recovery at the request of the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

    To National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola, FL.

    Restored.
