When former President Johnson died, his body was flown in this aircraft from Texas to Washington DC for funeral, and then returned to Texas. |

Redesignated as C-137C. |

January 1998 |
Last time this aircraft flew a sitting President was when the primary aircraft was stuck in the mud in Champaign, IL. This aircraft was stationed as back-up at Grissom AFB, IN and was dispatched to pick up President Clinton and flew him to La Crosse, WI and then to Washington, DC. The aircraft was then retired from service. |
