    Constructed as a L-26B-AD by Aero Commander at Bethany, OK, USA.

    1956

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 55-4647.

    From 1956 to 1960

    Used by President Eisenhower for short trips, sometimes flown by Ike himself, often between Washington, DC and Gettysburg,PA. First aircraft to wear Presidential blue and White paint scheme. Was smallest Air Force One, and first Presidential aircraft to have only two engines.

    From 1961 to 1969

    Removed from Presidential service. Used for transporting high ranking government officials.

    September 1962

    Redesignated as U-4B.

    1 October 1969

    Transferred to U. S Air Force Academy, CO.
    Used for cadet parachute training and skydiving team.

    2 November 1977

    Transferred to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposal Center (MASDC) with inventory number HY002.

    November 1977

    To Civil Air Patrol, Maxwell AFB, AL with new c/r N5379G.
    Operated by Nebraska Wing.

    19 February 1993

    To J. W. Duff Aircraft Company, Denver, CO keeping c/r N5379G.

    1996

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.

    Restored.
    Restored to original Presidential configuration.

    July 1997

    Placed on display.

    24 July 1998

    Civil registration, N5379G, cancelled.
