    Assigned s/n 51-11971 with the United States Air Force for administrative purposes. It did not serve with this service.
    Accepted by the USAF for delivery to the Army.

    Redesignated as TO-1A.

    To Headquarters, Civil Air Patrol, Maxwell AFB, AL.

    1971

    To Civil Air Patrol, Wisconsin Wing, Superior, WI with new c/r N5166G.
    Often operated with floats or skis.

    14 June 1972

    Certificate of airworthiness for N5166G (305A, 22285) issued.

    1980

    To unknown owner with c/r N5166G.
    Owner in Wisconsin used floats during summer and hydraulic skis in winter.

    1986

    To Soaring Club, Ann Arbor, MI keeping c/r N5166G.
    Used as glider tug.

    28 August 1988

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Richmond Airport (69G) Gregory, MI, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. As the aircraft climbed through an altitude of about 100 feet above the ground with a glider in tow, the engine began to run rough and then failed completely. The pilot executed a forced landing in a grassy, rolling field, striking a fence and small tree before impacting the ground. The glider released and landed without incident...
