    Markings Applied: US Navy*s Last Fighter 1970-2006
    F-14D BuNo 163904 had all VF-31 markings removed in order to act as a neutral subject for the Tomcats official lastflight at NAS Oceana on 22 September 2006. An apparent technical issue occurred just before the final offical flight was to take place, leading to another VF-31 Tomcat (BuNo 163902) jet performing the flight. F-14D 163902 was still wearing full VF-31 markings.
