    First flight.
    Piloted by A. Capper.

    28 April 1959

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Navy with s/n XJ494.

    From 16 December 1965 to 8 May 1967

    Converted to a Sea Vixen FAW.2.
    At RNAY Sydenham, Belfast.

    4 January 1971

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the Royal Navy.

    18 August 1971

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Aircraft Establishment with s/n XJ494.

    18 August 1971

    Transferred to A (and) AEE, RAE Boscombe Down.

    11 April 1976

    Transferred to RAE Farnborough.
    As part of D3 Drone Programme. Was used as a trials aircraft and has an under nose camera mounting and a cable running down the port boom, leading to what may be a transponder or beacon fairing of some kind on the tail fin. She took part in Red Beard and Martel missile trials, some details of which are still classified.

    4 December 1983

    Placed on display with Trout Lake, Kings Langley.

    22 June 1999

    To Phoenix Aviation, Great Barrington Airport, Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire/Leics, England.
