    To Aero Corporation, Atlanta, GA keeping c/r N18444.

    Civil registration, N18444, cancelled.
    Exported to Bahamas.

    By 1 October 1957

    To Eastern Provincial Airways with new c/r CF-HFL (Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, 520).

    1 October 1957

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. This was a cargo flight. The accident occurred at 80 km (50 mls) from Goose Bay, NF (Canada) while en route. Narrative: Catalina CF-HFL was returning to Goose Bay after supplying diesel fuel to an isolated communications site at Sona Lake, NF, Canada. When the airplane was about 50 miles out both engines began losing power until both engines quit. The plane descended and crashed through treetops, bounced off a marsh then struggled back six feet into the air until her starboard wing struck a small copse of pines...

    Leading edge of starboard wing damaged. The hull was wrinkled. The props were bent. Port wing tip bent. The airframe was written off. The cockpit was stripped and the airframe abandoned.
