    Constructed as a F-101B-105-MC by McDonnell at Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.

    Circa 1960

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 58-0272.

    By 1966

    Transferred to 18th FIS, 29th AD, Grand Forks AFB, ND.

    Transferred to 132nd FIS, 101st FIG, Maine ANG, Bangor IAP, ME.

    21 July 1971

    Destroyed in a crash.
    While taking off from Bangor IAP, 58-0272 struck a bird which caused catastrophic engine failure. The aircraft crashed at the end of the airport runway. Pilot Maj. James E. Ashley and WSO Capt. Christopher H. Glenn were killed in the crash.
