Notes: In some families, the F-106 is a family affair. Michael and John Winter, two brothers from Grand Forks, ND, were assigned to this jet at two different times. Michael was the CC for 790 while assigned to the 460th FIS at Grand Forks AFB, ND. John was the ACC for 790 in 1984 while this jet was assigned to the 5th FIS at Minot AFB. Both brothers would retire from the USAF at the rank of SMSGT. Two brothers, two different bases, 1 state, 1 jet. You cant make this stuff up.
