    To Gerald H. Compton, Richvale, CA with new c/r N9894 (H-19D, 55998).

    7 March 1979

    Involved in an incident.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number OAK79DVG21: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 13:15 hours. The airframe was destroyed. This was a local flight from Vina, CA. The engine failed or malfunctioned during the initial climb. Suffered a hard landing during the landing rollout. The emergency circumstances included; forced off-airport landing on land. Report remarks include: Drivetrain failure between engine and main rotor. Incident occurred at or near Vina, CA.

    18 March 1991

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at Richvale, CA, United States while maneuvering. The damage was substantial. The pilot stated that he was dispensing his 20TH load of insect spray over almond trees. During a swath run the engine lost power and the helicopter impacted the trees and then the ground. The engines number 4 cylinder intake valve keeper failed.
