    Constructed as a P-3C-110-LO by Lockheed at Burbank, California, USA.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 156511.

    Converted to an EP-3E.

    Transferred to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1), NAS Whidbey Island, WA.

    By 2001

    Deployed to NAS Kadena, Okinawa, Japan.

    1 April 2001

    On patrol over South China Sea at 22,000 ft Mid-air collision with Peoples Republic of China Shenyang F-8-II Finback fighter serial 81192 which crashed, killing the pilot. Made emergency landing at Lingshui Air Base, Hainan Island, China and 24 crewmembers were detained.

    11 April 2001

    Detained crewmembers were released.

    August 2001

    Aircraft was dis-assembled and returned to US Navy inside two An 124 Ruslan transports.

    Rebuilt by Lockheed Martin at Marietta, Georgia using parts of NP-3D 150525 and the wings of P-3B 153453.

    15 November 2002

    First post-reassembly Flight.

    November 2002

    Transferred to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1), NAS Whidbey Island, WA.
    Operated with markings: 511

    Circa 2023

    Transferred to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC).

    22 October 2024

    Based at Pima Air and Space Museum, Davis-Monthan AFB (South Side), Tucson, AZ.
