    Notes: CF-MPO at Winnipeg on 27Jun70 - Looking splendid in the blue/yellow scheme is this RCMP Otter. In 1992 it was sold off then exported to Alaska in 96 as N87AW.

    To Alaska West Air Service Inc of Kenai, AK with new c/r N87AW.

    From 16 January 1996 to 5 March 1996

    Converted to a DHC-3-T.
    Converted to a Vazar DHC-3T turbine Otter by Aeroflite Industries.

    Certificate of airworthiness for N87AW (DHC-3, 52) issued.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Sun Private Airport Bettles Field, AK, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. The pilot was landing at a remote, private airstrip. He said the landing area was soft and as the airplane touched down it veered to the left. His efforts to abort the landing with the runway remaining was unsuccessful. The airplane exited the right side of the landing area and collided with a fuel tank farm...

    Summary: The airframe was damaged but was repairable. The domestic non scheduled passenger flight departed Coldfoot Airport, AK (CXF/PACX), United States of America. The accident occurred at 128 km (80 mls) NW of Bettles Field, AK (United States of America) while landing.
