    Transferred to North Atlantic Wing, Air Transport Command, Dow Field, Bangor, ME.

    26 April 1944

    Transferred to 603rd Bomb Squadron, 398th Bomb Group, Nuthampstead (Station 131), Hertfordshire.
    Operated with markings: N7 K, Lil 8 Ball

    6 May 1944

    Damaged.
    Substantially damaged in an accident with B-17G 42-97317 at Nuthampstead.

    26 July 1944

    Destroyed in a crash.
    Crashed on takeoff for a non-operational flight when it veered off the runway, hit a tractor and burnt out at Nuthampstead.

    Notes: Photo taken by Sgt. Marvin Wallerstedt. Sgt. Wallerstedt served in the Army Air Force in England at a Sub Depot of an engineering department repairing damaged aircraft. He took many photos of damaged B-17s, many of which were subsequently destroyed.
