Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Jim Fugate. Qualified in 11th place with an average speed of 275.66 mph. Dropped out on the ninth lap with mechanical problems. |

This was a P-51D modified for racing. The wing gun ports were refaired. The wing was extended with the addition of fiberglass tips. A round tip Hamilton Standard propeller with cuffs was installed. The extended wing included additional internal fuel tanks for cross country competition, but was first entered in the Reno 1968 races. Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Jim Fugate. Qualified in 9th place with an average speed of 267.72 mph. Raced in the Reserve race. Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 306.43 mph. |

Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Mike Loening. Raced in the Make-Up race. Finished in 1st place with an average speed of 319.48 mph. |
