    Constructed as a Chipmunk T.10.

    27 July 1952

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n WP809.
    The delivery date is provided.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Navy with s/n WP809 and operated with these markings: 912.

    Transferred to Brittannia Flight.

    Transferred to Royal Naval Pilot Grading Flight, Plymouth, Roborough.
    Kept as a reserve airframe.

    Transferred to RAF Shawbury.
    She was only used very occasionally and spent almost her entire life mothballed at Shawbury.

    From Circa 1980 to Circa 1992

    Was used in the Kings Cup series of air races flown by a RN crew. 50 hours per year were allocated for this purpose.

    Colin Tattersall comments: I flew this airframe for four years in this series of air races the final race being the Kings Cup held at Leicester in 1992 ( If my memory is correct). During her time air racing she won the The Gower Cup held at Swansea and the Grosvenor Challenge Trophy held at Shobdon with many other 2nds and 3rds.

    Gordon Pugh comments (5 June 2017): Not fitted with mirror or glider hook whilst at Roborough.

    Restored.
    A new engine and wings were installed.

    2 August 1994

    To Airspares, UK with new c/r G-BVTX (DHC-1 CHIPMUNK 22A, C1/0705).

    Gordon Pugh comments (5 June 2017): I do recall it being at Roborough on quite a few occasions as a replacement when others went away for work at St Athen or Kemble.
