    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 44-63655.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 44-63655.

    1948

    Redesignated as F-51D.

    Editor comment: Some sources have this airframe as being transferred to Swedish service but this is believed to be incorrect.

    17 January 1955

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Fuerza Aerea Sandinista/Defensa Anti-Aerea with s/n GN 84.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Fuerza Aerea Costarricense.
    Some sources have this as being transferred to Costa Rica. It is unclear if the transfer actually took place.

    1 September 1963

    To MACO Sales Financial Corp./Will W. Martin, Chicago, IL with new c/r N6153U.

    1 May 1965

    Destroyed in a crash.
    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number MIA66D0374: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 15:35 hours. The airframe was destroyed. The engine failed or malfunctioned while cruising. Suffered a hard landing on touch down. There was complete power loss in the failure of one engine. The emergency circumstances included; forced off-airport landing on land. Incident occurred at or near Sta Teresa, Nicaragua.

    17 August 1965

    Engine and instruments removed, wreck stripped for aluminum and fuel by local populace. Martin stated to FAA: N6153U has been scrapped.

    January 1985

    Editor note: In this record it is assumed that the wreck of 44-63655 was not scrapped and it was actually shipped to the USA for restoration. It is assumed components of 44-63655 were actually used in the restoration of 44-74543 (which provided at the very least the center section and fuselage) and the resulting restoration assumed the identity of 44-63655 due to paperwork issues.
