Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 327.655 mph. Started the Silver Semi-Final race, but did not finish. Raced in the Stock Plane Friday race. Finished in 1st place with an average speed of 321.404 mph. Did not qualify and therefore had to start in last place in the stock races. Left the Silver Final Race with a broken prop control handle after taking the white flag.

    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Jimmy Leeward. Qualified in 4th place with an average speed of 434.89 mph. Raced in the Bronze race. Finished in 6th place with an average speed of 283.83 mph. Did not start in the Bronze 1 race. Did not start in the Bronze 2 race. Leeward was again scheduled for this race in #9 Cloud Dancer but, again, illegally took off in #10 Specter and passed Earl Ketchen midway through the race to cross the finish line in first. He was, of course, in the race illegally and thus was not the winner. Earl Ketchen was, in fact, the winner in #81 as shown above. Leeward was officially declared a Did Not Start in #9 Cloud Dancer.
