    Summarized NTSB narrative from report number LAX79FA086: There were no fatalities. Incident occurred at 08:55 hours. The damage was substantial. Incident occurred at the Airport Mesa Airport, Castaic, CA. This was a local flight from Castaic, CA. Experienced a controlled collision with terrain while performing aerobatics. Report remarks include: Right main gear struck high spot on mesa during low pass after recovery from loop. Filming movie.

    Notes: Kermit Weeks got this a/c when he bought out the Tallmantz Museum collection and he offered to sell me this Stearman, as he did not want it. So I did not have to go to CA to pick it up. The pictures of it in South FL are in front of Kermits shop by TMB just after it was delivered from CA. Kermit kept the P and W 450 engine but gave me a Cont. 220 instead. I totally disassembled it and started on the repair work starting on the tail
