    Certificate of airworthiness for N44562 (D17S, 6923) issued.

    19 August 1959

    Damaged.
    Engine failure, forced gear-up landing due to master-rod failure at Santa Maria (CA) landed in a farm field (www.beech17.net).

    From 1959 to 1974

    Restored.
    Five owners during this period, each contributing to restoration.

    Restoration completed.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) Phoenix, AZ, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. According to the pilot, he unintentionally landed the airplane with the gear retracted. He additionally reported no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. A postaccident examination of the airplane revealed substantial damage to the wing.

    The accident occurred at the City of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS) Colorado Springs, CO, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. The airline transport pilot was landing in the tailwheel-equipped airplane in right quartering tailwind conditions. After touchdown, with the tailwheel on the runway, the airplane drifted to the right and the pilot applied left brake...
