    From 3 December 2001 to 22 November 2002

    Converted to a Sea King ASaC.7 by Westland.
    Carried out at RNAS Culdrose.

    Written off.
    Aircraft collided mid-air with Sea King ASaC.7 XV.704 while operating in the northern Persian Gulf. One Sea King had taken off after refuelling from HMS Ark Royal. It headed towards the coast in the early morning darkness. Five miles from the ship it collided with the other Sea King which was en-route back to the ship. Both aircraft exploded killing the six British and one American on board. Both aircraft were being used to support Royal Marines who were moving into Iraqs Fao peninsula to secure oil fields.

    Scrapped.
    Wreckage to FSAIU Yeovilton then scrapped.
