    Constructed as a F-105B-1-RE by Republic at Farmindale, New York, USA.

    29 April 1957

    First flight.
    From F-105 Thunderchiefs by W. Howard Plunkett: First flight from Republic Aircraft, Farmingdale, NY, to Calverton, NY. Flown by Republic test pilot Hank Beaird. First F-105 flown from the Republic factory. Aircraft flew for 60 minutes and had erratic trailing edge flap operation and fuel venting on deceleration.

    30 April 1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 54-0102.

    28 May 1957

    Transferred to USAF Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA.

    28 July 1957

    From F-105 Thunderchiefs by W. Howard Plunkett: Its eighth flight, a fly-over of Andrews AFB, MD by Republic Aviation test pilot Lindell Hendrix, the aircraft was the first F-105 to be demonstrated to the public. The aircraft recovered at Wright-Patterson AFB en-route to Edwards AFB, CA.

    By May 1958

    Transferred to Armament Development and Test Center, Eglin AFB, FL.

    Transferred to USAF Systems Command, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

    From October 1959 to January 1960

    Loaned to NASA, Edwards AFB, CA.
    Completed three flights. The F-105B appeared at the base only briefly, so that NASA pilots could familiarize themselves with the characteristics of the aircraft.

    21 March 1960

    Assigned to MOAMA, Brookley AFB, AL for storage.

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force Loan Program, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
