Raced as #49, named Boomer II. The airframe was stock but was considered exceptionally clean. It was fitted with a P-51H Aeroproducts propeller and was equipped with a highly tuned Merlin engine producing over 2,000 hp. Apparently arrived at the National Air Races Los Angeles, may have qualified and may even have competed in the Unlimited class, but we do not have any documented results (no times or placements). The primary pilot was Ellis D Weiner. No results were recorded for the race. Raced in Heat B. Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 349.50 mph. Raced in the Trophy race. Finished in 1st place with an average speed of 375.81 mph. |

Qualified in 3rd place with an average speed of 399.78 mph. Raced in the Trophy race. Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 373.71 mph. |

Raced as #49, named BARDAHL Miss. Weiner picked up the Bardahl sponship previously held by Chuck Lyford Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Ellis D Weiner. Qualified in 4th place with an average speed of 360.42 mph. Raced in Heat 1. Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 384.18 mph. Started the Trophy race, but did not finish. In the championship race, race #49 was only able to complete five laps and dropped out with serious engine problems. |

Raced as #49, named BARDAHL Miss. This was the last appearance for E.D. Weiner at the Reno National Championships. Mr. Weiner had been ill, but he felt well enough to participate in the race. Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Ellis D Weiner. Qualified in 5th place with an average speed of 357.90 mph. Started Heat 1, but did not finish. Mr. Weiner participated in one heat race, but the strain was too much Mr. Weiners heart. He Iater died in a Reno hospital. |
