    This was a stock airframe with minor aircraft cleanup. As well a Hamilton Standard Propeller with cuffs was installed. Competed in the California 1000 Air Races event. The primary pilot was Robert J Love. Qualified in 4th place with an average speed of 309.37 mph. Raced in the One Mile Course race. Finished in 9th place with an average speed of 309.27 mph.

    Raced as #6.
    Competed in the U. S. Cup Race event. The primary pilot was Robert J Love. Started the One Mile Course race, but did not finish. Finished 81 laps. Curt Pylon 2 on the thrid lap and was penalized one lap. Left the race with a coolant leak.

    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Robert J Love. Qualified in 2nd place with an average speed of 423.02 mph. Raced in Heat B. Finished in 1st place with an average speed of 396.79 mph. Started the Trophy race, but did not finish. Dropped out on the seventh lap with engine vibrations.

    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Robert J Love. Qualified in 5th place with an average speed of 402.71 mph. Raced in Heat 1. No time was recorded and finished in 4th place. Raced in the Trophy race. No time was recorded and finished in 6th place. On the final lap, Loves engine went and he started pulling up. The contest judge declared that he was more than 500 ft above the course and thus disallowed his second place finish and dropped to the sixth official finishing position. This was protested to no avail.

    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Unlimited class. The primary pilot was Robert J Love. Qualified in 9th place with an average speed of 387.27 mph. Raced in the Reserve race. Finished in 2nd place with an average speed of 379.32 mph.
