    Constructed as a P-39N.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-4949.

    24 July 1943

    Involved in an incident.
    Damaged during a taxiing accident at Amchitka Airbase, Alaska on July 24, 1943. During taxiing, the nose wheel went into a hole and the prop was damaged.

    By 5 May 1944

    Markings Applied: Little Joe

    5 May 1944

    Crashed.
    Crashed by 2nd Lt. Jimmie L. Fields Jr. during a ferry flight back to the U.S. from Alaska on May 5, 1944. It was painted Little Joe above the exhaust and had the red trim around the insignia and some white lines painted on the tail when it crashed.

    November 1971

    Recovered.
    Was recovered to the Fort Nelson airport where it sat until Tallichet recovered it.

    To Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino Airport, Chino, CA.
    The wings on 42-4949 in the museum in Chino are not the original wings, and the cannon is incorrect.
