Jim Weiherer comments (3 November 2019): The only time in the airplanes history that the race number had changed was in 1981 when Marshall Wells owned it and changed the race number from #31 to #9 and renamed it Lil Niner. This was done in reference to Wells SNJ-5 racer # 9 Cumn Thru. Wells raced Lil Niner at Corvallis and Reno in 1981 only. |
