    Constructed as an OS2U-3.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 5986.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Netherlands Navy with s/n V-21.
    Never entered Dutch service because of the war in Netherlands East Indies. In the confusion, the aircraft was taken on charge by the USAAF and diverted to Royal Australian AF. (JBaugher).

    2 July 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Australian Air Force with s/n A48-2 as a Kingfisher I.

    July 1942

    Transferred to Seaplane Training Flight.

    Transferred to No. 3 Operational Training Unit.
    Operated with markings: JE-D

    Transferred to 107 Squadron.
    Operated with markings: JE-B

    22 August 1945

    Flown to Lake Voga, Victoria, Australia.

    22 August 1945

    Withdrawn from use.
    WFU at Lake Voga and stored.

    May 1948

    Sold for scrap.

    1948

    To unknown owner.
    Stored on a farm near Merbein, Victoria.

    1972

    To Warbird Aviation Museum, Mildura.

    Notes: At Warbirds Aviation Museum, Mildura - Vought Sikorsky OS2U Kingfisher A48-2 JE-B was a RAAF Lake Boga disposal which was found on an orchard at nearby Merbein. The orchardist intended to make the main float and two under wing floats into canoes on the River Murray.Pearce later sold this rare Kingfisher and a Catalina to John Bell at Albany WA, where both were restored for display
