    Constructed as an AC-1-DH by deHavilland Canada at Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

    24 August 1962

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army with s/n 61-2406.

    17 September 1962

    Redesignated as CV-2A.

    January 1967

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 61-2406 as a C-7A.
    Transferred to USAF under Operation Red Leaf.

    By August 1968

    Transferred to 537th TAS, 483rd TAW, Phu Cat AB, Vietnam.
    Operated with markings: KN

    August 1968

    2 April 1970

    Shot down.
    Hit by ground fire and crashed near Dak Seang, South Vietnam Apr 2, 1970. 3 crew KIA. Two Caribou planes were sent to Dak Seang on an ammunition drop mission. Because the first aircraft reported ground fire after delivering its load, the second C-7 made a left-hand turn to try to avoid the ground fire but was hit by automatic weapons fire at an altitude of 400 feet. The Caribou flew off to the south, possibly trying to make for Dak To, but it burst into flames and crashed.
