    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-15798 as a PT-27.
    Returned to USAAF.

    To 1st Army Air Force Flying Training Detachment, Santa Maria Municipal Airport, CA.

    22 December 1943

    Written off.
    At Hancock Field, CA due to mid-air collision. Pilot John Simpson killed.

    9 June 1955

    Involved in an incident.
    At Nictau -the pilot turned downwind throwing the aircraft out of control and into heavy bushes The pilot had come in at nose high and with wings level between two trees, shearing the trunks close to the tops and removing all four wing panels. The Stearman hit the ground flat on the fuselage but spun around, driving a two-inch branch through the fuselage behind the cockpit, narrowly missing the pilot.
