    Constructed as an AT-6C-NT by North American at Dallas, Texas, USA.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-4041.

    Remanufactured as a T-6G.
    New construction number, 168-257, assigned to the airframe.

    Circa 1949

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 49-3153.

    9 November 1979

    Certificate of airworthiness for N5557V (AT-6G, 49-3153) issued.

    By 26 July 1987

    To unknown owner with c/r N5557V.

    26 July 1987

    Crashed.
    There was one serious injury and was one minor injury. The accident occurred at Gragg Wade Field (02A) Clanton, AL, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. The airplane engine loss power shortly after takeoff and the pilot turned back toward the airport. The airplane crashed approimately 1200 feet short of the runway in a clearing. The pilot reported that he had departed the airport with the fuel selector in the off position.
