    Constructed as a Meteor NF.11.

    25 June 1952

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Aircraft Establishment with s/n WD790.

    Converted to a Meteor NF.11(mod).
    WD790 did not actually serve as a night-fighter, but instead was used as a testbed for radar and other systems over a thirty year period for aircraft such as the Lightning, TSR2, Tornado and Vulcan. It was also used as a (non destructive) manned radar target for Bloodhound and Thunderbird missile trials.
