    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 49-2882.

    Transferred to Assigned to the 16th Troop Carrier Squadron (Assault), Stewart AFB, TN.

    To Chris D. Stoltzfus, of Coatesville, PA with new c/r N122R.

    28 April 1957

    Converted by Hamilton A/C to be used for forest fire fighting, and for aerial spraying including grasshoppers, Spruce Budworm and Gypsy Moth.

    7 September 1968

    Destroyed in a crash.
    Summary: The airframe was a loss. This was a cargo flight. Narrative: The YC-122 cargo plane was engaged in transporting loads of cement from Galena, Alaska to a DEW Line site. While en route the no. 1 cylinder of the right hand engine failed. The pilot diverted to Golovin, Alaska. However, a go around had to be executed. While manoeuvering the aircraft stalled and impacted the water.

    7 September 1968

    Crashed.
    The incident occurred at Golovin, AK, United States. The time was 1722 hours. The damage was substantial. The engine failed or malfunctioned while cruising. Stalled during a landing go-around. The factors included; came to rest in water. There was complete power loss in the failure of one engine. Report remarks include: No. One cylinder failed right engine. Initiated go around at too low airspeed.
