    Transferred to 3205th Drone Squadron, 3250th Drone Group, Eglin AFB, FL.

    Converted to a DB-17G.

    15 September 1952

    Damaged.
    Mid-air collision with birds.

    April 1959

    Assigned to Davis Monthan AFB, Tucson AZ for storage.
    This was the last B-17 to be held at Davis Monthan AFB.

    12 January 1968

    Leased to Tallmantz Aviation, Orange County, CA.
    Delivered on this date.

    Markings Applied: Balls of Fire, KY L, 25053
    Flew in the filming of the movie 1000 Plane Raid at Santa Maria, CA.

    Civil registration N4250 reserved but not taken up.

    Badly damaged at Tamiami, FL, by Hurricane Andrew. Broke tie-down ropes and was blown a mile from the airfield.

    Notes: The B-17 fared better than most aircraft at Tamiami when Hurricane Andrew passed through. Even though it was chained down it was blown off the airport property and across a railroad track ending up like this
