    Constructed as a Canberra PR.9.

    31 March 1960

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Ministry of Defence with s/n XH132.

    1960

    Converted to a Canberra SC.9 by Short.
    Converted at Short Brothers factory in Ireland and was rebuilt as a specialised Shorts SC.9 with the capability of carrying several different types of nose-mounted equipment for missile homing head trails.

    Transferred to Dehavilland Propellors, Hatfield.
    As part of the Red Top guided missile trails programme.

    Transferred to Hawker Siddeley Dynamics for A Continuation of the Trails.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Aircraft Establishment with s/n XH132.

    1972

    Transferred to Radar Research Establishment, Pershore.
    For Sky Flash guided weapon homing-head development.

    By September 1982

    Transferred to RSRE, RAE Bedford.

    1986

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Royal Air Force with s/n 8915M.

    24 September 1986

    Transferred to Battle Damage Research Flight, RAF Saint Mawgan,.
    As a Ground Instruction airframe.

    By 19 May 1992

    Scrapped.
    Broken up at RAF St Mawgan by Henry Orchards Scrap, St Austell, Cornwall. Nose preserved.

    By June 1999

    Placed on display with Albino Panigarri, Vigolzone, Italy.
