    Constructed as a PBY-5A.
    CAC no 0024, Sequence no. T453, Hull # 1966

    4 October 1944

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 46602.

    6 October 1944

    Transferred to Coast Guard Air Station (CGAS) Elizabeth City, NC.

    Transferred to Headquarters Squadron 2 (HEDRON-2)/Fleet Air Wing 5.

    Transferred to Patrol Bombing Squadron 45 (VPB-45).

    Deployed to Naval Air Facility (NAF) Ipitanga, Brazil, to fly anti-submarine patrols over the Atlantic Ocean as per an agreement between the American and Brazilian governments for Brazil to grant the US Navy access to Brazilian ports and airfields to protect against German U-boats targeting Allied merchant vessels in the South Atlantic.

    By September 1945

    Transferred to HEDRON-1/Fleet Air Wing 14.

    Circa January 1946

    Transferred to Naval Aircraft Factory in Philadelphia, PA.
    For overhaul.

    Circa March 1946

    Transferred to Fleet Aviation Electronics Training Unit (FAETU) Pacific.

    November 1946

    Transferred to Amphibious Patrol Squadron 5 (VP-AM-5), NAS Whidbey Island, WA.
    Deployed to Adak, AK for a period.

    November 1947

    Served in a number of aircraft pools in the Pacific Northwest and flew with the Naval Air Reserve in Seattle.

    Circa 1949

    Assigned to NAS Litchfield Park, AZ for storage.

    1956

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Navy.

    Circa 1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Secretaria de Marina Armada de Mexico.

    1966

    To The Flying Fireman Ltd, Sidney, BC with new c/r CF-FZZ.
    Purchased in Mexico City.

    1966

    Converted into fire-fighting tanker, mounting larger vertical fin and rudder.

    1966

    Operated as fire service #3.
