    Constructed as a F-105B-5-RE by Republic at Farmindale, New York, USA.

    9 September 1957

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 54-0107.

    By 10 November 1957

    To Eglin AFB, FL.
    For testing in climatic hangar.

    From February 1958 to March 1958

    To Eielson AFB, AK.
    For cold-weather testing.

    March 1958

    Set the speed record for Elmendorf, AK to Eglin, FL.

    3 June 1958

    Redesignated as JF-105B.

    1 September 1962

    Permanently withdrawn from use.

    By January 1972

    To National Museum of the United States Air Force Loan Program, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.

    Loaned to USAF History and Traditions Museum, Lackland AFB, TX.
    Was the mascot for the 3727th and 3211th Basic Military Training Squadron(s) at Lackland.

    Notes: in 1978 this Thunderchief was on display in the USAF History and Traditions Museum at Lackland AFB, Texas.

    24 February 1993

    Dismantled: A volunteer group from the Sabre Society arrived at Lackland AFB, TX, from Hickory, NC, to assist a USAF volunteer crew from Randolph AFB, TX, in dismantling the F-105.

    From 28 February 1993 to 3 March 1993

    Transported by ground.
    The disassembled F-105 was loaded onto two separate flatbed trucks and driven from Texas to North Carolina.

    May 1993

    Placed on display with Hickory Aviation Museum, Hickory Regional Airport, Hickory, NC.

    Notes: F-105B 54-0107 was cosmetically restored and completed in 2019 to the color scheme of when the airframe did cold weather testing in 1958. It is the second oldest surviving F-105. For further information, email the museum at info@hickoryaviationmuseum.com.
