    Notes: Flight to Rome. This could be Dhahran (maybe Beirut or Kuwait). Dad worked for Aramco. This shot was on a roll of Kodachrome of his vacation in Rome.

    Crashed.
    Summary: The airframe was written off. There were four fatalities. The cargo flight departed Tehran-Mehrabad Airport (THR/OIII), Iran and was destined for Beirut International Airport (BEY/OLBA), Lebanon. The accident occurred at 11 km (6. 9 mls) SE of Karai (Iran) while en route. Narrative: The Avro York plane carried out a freight flight from Beirut to Tehran via Kuwait. On the Kuwait-Tehran leg of the flight several test manoeuvres were carried out by a check pilot who was examining the pilot in command and co-pilot for renewal of their licenses...
