    Flew the Westover AFB to Rhein-Main route in support of the Berlin Airlift.

    Converted to a VC-121A.

    From September 1950 to April 1951

    Markings Applied: Bataan
    Fitted with APS-10 weather radar.

    From 1952 to 1953

    Markings Applied: Bataan
    Served as the VIP transport for General MacArthur.

    Transferred to 6486th CLM Squadron, HQ, Pacific Air Command.
    Continued to serve as a VIP transport.

    18 January 1966

    Transferred to Davis Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ.

    January 1966

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Air Force.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with s/n 422.

    Transferred to National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Goddard Space Center, Greenbelt, MD.
    Used in support of the Apollo lunar landing program.

    NASA removed the VIP interior and installed instrumentation for use in the support of the Apollo space program.
