    Withdrawn from use.
    At20 MU aircraft storage unit, Aston Down, Gloucestershire.

    27 January 1956

    To Aero Club Du Bearn, Sauvagnon, Aquitaine Sud with new c/r F-BHIN (Tiger Moth Dh 82 A, N-5490).
    Based at Pau Idron.

    Civil registration, F-BHIN, cancelled.

    Notes: On the delivery flight from Alaska to California - They flew down the Alcan (the Alaska Canada highway) which is 1,523 miles long and does not have many gas stops. The Tiger could not hold enough fuel to get from airport to airport, so sometimes they landed on the dirt road with ice on it and pulled into the gas pump to fuel and eat. It was quite the sight, so all passing traffic stopped to look and the lodge owners kept feeding them to keep the Moth at the pump. Moth drawn by fuel, drivers drawn by Moth!

    24 August 1990

    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at the Petaluma Airport (069) Petaluma, CA, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. The pilot reported that on final approach, the crosswind was abt 10-15 degree off the nose. The aircraft touched down on the main wheels, but when the tailwheel began to settle at abt midfield, the airplane swerved to the right. The pilot failed to maintain direct control and the airplane entered into soft dirt...
