    Constructed as a P-40K-5-CU by Curtiss at Buffalo, NY.

    Circa 1942

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 42-9733.

    Shot down over the Aleutians and crashed on Amchitaka Island with the wreck subsequently abandoned.

    12 May 1945

    Condemned as salvage at Adak, AK.

    A problem with the engine was the cause of the crash. The forced landing was made at Wanaka.

    Repainted in the colours of the Amierican Volunteer Grup, the Flying Tigers. It is marked as a P-40K which was destroyed in a night takeoff at Espiritu Santo.
